May I PLEASE request: last frame to stay on the screen :(

Postby BugsB » 03 Sep 2007 23:24

hi VideoLAN,

it would be SOOO great if you could include that feature as an option. Even though I really love your player, I quit using it for playing Video, because it just tears a hole into the viewing enjoyment if, right after the movie one has just watched, one is thrown onto/ into a computer's desktop. Especially guests don't have any understanding for that (I use my laptop for playing videos onto the screen).

So, do you think that option would be a rather easy task to realize? (to be honest "rest on last pictuere", I think, should be default anyway).

Hoping for a positive response,
Bugs

VideoLAN pleeeaaase .. :-|

this feature which is so basic is missing so much - it is so unnerving to after a video is finished one gets thrown onto the desktop (no matter how pretty the design of the desktop). All other players have this as default, look here:

Image

pleeaase ..make it default to NOT exit fullscreen at the end of playback .. :( whoever wants to exit after playback @ fullscreen could simply uncheck the box (which hardly anybody will ..)

Thank you so much,
Bugs

CloudStalker feels bugsbunny's pain on this, but more is involved then bugsbunny might realize, something to do with holding onto dll(s) and blah blah blah (edit: nope, wrong). CloudStalker guesses what bugsbunny suggests might be more of a way around the problem then an actual fix.

So could respected CloudStalker please tell BugsBunny what CloudStalker thinks the real solution of the problem is, in contrast to the mere "workaround" which BugsBunny proposed?

Sure, lemme ask him. Yo CloudStalker.
What! :x
Woe woe, calm down man, I just have a question for ya.
What is it?
BugsBunny wants to know....
Oh, you mean the rabbit from the cartoons? :P
OK yeah, the "rabbit", it's a bunny anyway you fool.
Well... tellem to go to this link.
Go to this link.
:-| . . . put the url in there you idiot!
Oops. you know, you don't have to be so mean. :( here ya go bugs (sniffle): Smooth transitions?

Hope that help explain it a bit better, found out CloudStalker was wrong, again, in this thread too. Ya know what? a developer will explain it a lot better the CloudStalker and most likely get right to the point. That could mean a link to some topic/thread in the first couple of lines.

That's not what is being discussed here. No need for a "smooth transition" at the end of a movie. What would you want to trasit to? It would be enough to simply end with a black screen after playback. That's feasable without relying on any Windows dlls.
