Fast access to VLC Player and repair

Postby Georgee » 06 Jun 2008 06:02

I like to use VLC on almost all my videos but when you right click on a video, it brings up the right click windows (XP) and then you have to go to OPEN WITH.... choose from a long list, etc

1. Anyone know how to put it on the right click menu like WINAMP or PowerDVD, etc

2. When you play a bad video is asks if you want to 'repair'. Seems to do a good job of it but can you then 'record' what you are watching so the next time it will be 'fixed' I can't seem to find the answers to either of these questions.

Thanks

1. You installed VLC with installer and chose the file associations thingy?

2. Settings -> Preferences and Input / Codecs -> Demuxers -> AVI and select option you want from Force index creation. VLC itself doesn't fix your files permanently, you can use divfix or Virtualdub to fix your broken AVI files.
