Seeking issue

Postby Cyborg » 31 May 2008 16:02

Hi there.

This is a small problem in VLC that can be quite annoying.
When I playback from a format in which seeking (jumping to any position in the video) is not working, the playback stops and I have to rewatch the entire file to get to where I was.
Would it be possible to either disable (grey out) the seek-slider, or at least make it jump back to the the position it was and don't interrupt the playback, when seeking is not available?

Thanks for a wonderful app!

Seeking should work better on nightly builds.

I was having the same seek problem, I've downloaded the latest (and a few of the earler) nightly version, but the seek is still not working. I'm trying to view a .m4v file, which plays with no problem, however I cannot move the slider back and forth. Any ideas?

Thank you

You have pure ES MPEG-4 video inside that m4v file?
