RTSP Stream not playing on Mac.. VLC Bug??

Postby SteveRicketts » 31 May 2008 19:39

I have a number of rtsp videos that play fine on Windows VLC but the same stream gives an Live555 error and times out after 10 seconds. It rolls over to mms:// after the failure and plays ok but I need to use rtsp because the video won't pause if I use either mms or http. I'm using VLC 8.6f.

I'll include one of the streams, but the same thing happens on all of them.

rtsp://learnnet.wmsvc.vitalstreamcdn.com/learnnet_vitalstream_com/videodemo/s1_6241b_cancino_8-29-06_640x480_256k_stream.wmv

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Steve

I downloaded the latest nightly build and the VLC icon bounced up and down a couple of time in the dock and then just disappears. I tried three more downloads at random for the month of May with the same results. I'm running a PowerPC iBook G4 with OS X 10.4.11. All the downloads were .zip's rather than .dmg's. I just expaned the .zip into a VLC directory and opened the VLC program. I don't know squat about a Mac so I could be doing something very wrong.
