Audio/Video playback for BL-C131A Panasonic Network Camera

Postby wftl » 24 May 2008 16:36

Hello everyone,

I've seen this discussed in other posts, but I see (as yet) no solution. Since a few months has passed, I would like to see if a solution for this now exists. I have a Panasonic BL-C131A network camera that displays video just fine. There are a couple of ways to do this. One is to use MJPEG output and another streaming MPEG4. Both support sound and (sigh) sound comes through if you view the camera using Internet Explorer. Firefox under Linux, VLC, ffmpeg, all display video, but no sound. The audio itself is g726.

To connect the camera for MJPEG, I do the following:

http://mycamip/nphMotionJpeg?Resolution=320x240

The 320x240 could also be 640x480. I can also get an MPEG4 stream like this:

http://mycamip/rtpOverHttp?Url=nphMpeg4/nil-320x240

In both cases, VLC plays a nice video I can a) view in the corner of my desktop while I work, and b) save the stream should I so desire (which I do from time to time). There is of course, no audio. If I press Ctrl+I to view the stream information, there is audio shown. Incidentally, I've also gone ahead and compiled the latest VLC code using GIT. Other than the new interface looking pretty snazzy, I see no difference (and I need to supply authentication information on the URI but that's no biggee).

Can anyone help me in getting VLC to play audio as well as video? Thanks for any help. If you need me to provide additional information, please let me know.

I was looking at this old post -- viewtopic.php?f=14&t=41800&p=139155&hilit=g.726#p139155 -- and it seems the most promising I have seen so far. In particular, the problem seems to be that the combined video and audio stream cannot (or could not) be decoded using the included demuxers, despite the fact that VLC is quite capable of decoding the ASF buffered content the camera can store. The problem is with the MIME encoded live stream.

I did see another post ( viewtopic.php?f=7&t=42544&start=0&st=0& ... &hilit=711 ) where a gentleman named Maurizio apparently sent a patch that might do the trick for the current development version of VLC. The patch was for an encoded g.711 stream but he seemed to imply this could work with g.726 (or 729, etc). Any word on that?

Thanks for any help. -- Marcel

Any progress with this? -- I looked at the older threads and it seems with Version 3.50R00 of the camera, many of the URLs no longer work - for instance with: http://192.168.0.1/nphVideo?Mode=0&Reso ... y=Standard -- I just get a gray image in firefox and if I wget the URL, I get an empty g726 and empty jpeg - no stream, no useful data :(

Anyone have a new URL that will stream mpeg4 with g726?

Hi,

New to the forum, wondering if anybody can help me out.

I know this thread is years old, and I'll probably make a new one if I get no response here.

I've got 3x Panasonic BL-C111 cameras, I think the same as BL-C131A but not wireless. I'm having the same trouble with the audio. I can stream mjpeg no problem, but not having the ability to pick up sound using an mpeg4 stream is abit of a problem for me. I know there are other threads discussing the problem but as of yet I still can't see any solution.

I've tried the following with no avail;

nphAudio (http)
http://username:password@aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd:ee/nphAudio?Mode=Mixed

nphMpeg4 (rtsp)
rtsp://username:password@aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd:ee/nphMpeg4/g726-320x240

Any help would be greatly appreciated !!

Thanks,
BS

Hi
I have just started to use Firefox
The sound has worked perfectly for around 4 years in many versions of Microsoft IE, but not Firefox
Even today, IE=good sound, Firefox none.
Panasonic don't care
Use Microsoft IE
