How can you acces the advanced options in the nightly?

Nobody knows an answer for my question how to change the options? I would really like to get aac to ac3 working.

I have been ble to play DVD and open avi files too. Which OS you are using?

running leopard 10.5.2

Seems last 2 just open close 30/29.
looks like it is loading then close's right away no error no nothing.

I went to others they open fine.

yep; seems like the last 2 are bad. They are also significantly smaller than the earlier ones in filesize

Try deleting the VLC preferences. Use the Apple script, Delete_Preferences, in the Goodies folder.

Been having pretty good luck with the 4/21/2008 release on OS X 10.5.2. It does frame grabs from DVDs, which is one of my main reasons for using it. And it inserts the time code into the file name correctly, which previous versions had not done. Yes!

But there is one problem with the frame grabs and it relates to the previously noted problem with access to advanced options. When you do a grab, it displays a preview of the grab that fills the entire image while the DVD continues to play. In previous version, this preview was just a thumbnail in the upper left corner of the frame and thus one could continue to see the DVD as it played.

Since it takes 4-5 seconds for the preview to fade out, it makes it difficult to do several quick grabs in a row (and see what you're grabbing).

I seem to recall an advanced option that lets you turn off the preview entirely, but since I can't get to the advanced options with this release I can't look for it.

Any thoughts?

I run the delete pref file every time I get a newer version. Just so i have clean play.

And yah they are smaller then last few.

Apparently a number of builds (including Mac OS X Intel and PPC) failed during the Build Contribs part.

It looks like an easy fix because http://files.musepack.net/source/libmpc ... .6.tar.bz2 works just fine but files2.musepack.net doesn't.

The nightly builds are up again but I cannot get sound on some movies but sound Plays well on 0.8.6F.

Maybe the problems with the nightlies are due to some parasites.

I do agree with Parasite that the a52 does not work. Both from DVD and from AVI, MKV files.

Hey! In build of 15 May, the preferences open correctly with the options appearing correctly. I can change the stuffs in there.

Can you see anything beyond the Audio settings in preferences? When I try to pull up preferences within Video, Input/Codecs, etc., it's just blank.

And the issue is the same with today's most recent build (vlc-git-intel-20080519-0140).

I just tried the preferences with build of 21 May 2008. I access all preferences without problems. For some options to be available you need to go to advanced mode. For just a few of these it is blank, e.g. video output caca. But then for the latter option I don;t know what it is anyway. In some languages caca is sh!t.

The nightlies are gone again. Last one was on 21 May 2008. Hope when it comes back again we get audio for a52.

Does anyone know why the preferences can't be accesed? I would like to test (HE-)AAC to AC3 on the fly. Can't wait for it to work.

Let's hope that the audio and the preferences work when the nightlies are back.
