Interactive Control of VLC

Postby rph123 » 16 Apr 2008 20:16

Is it possible to start vlc from a command line obtaining it's stdin, and then send it commands interactively thro stdin e.g tell it to start playing another .mp4 file or something?

Thanks

Is vlc always listening for commands in this mode? i.e Can I send it a command asychronously, telling it to abort a current loop, say ?

Are there any examples on this website ?

Thanks.

Could you provide an example of what you want to do exactly?
