DVD transcode stops after first chapter

Postby xasx » 17 Apr 2008 11:44

Hello there,

I am experiencing a problem when I want to transcode a DVD to MP4 (or any other format). The first chapter of the selected title is being transcoded then transcoding stops.
I already read the regarding topics in the Wiki and searched the forum, but I did not find anything that addresses this issue. It seems that it is a bug that only happens on my system or with my DVD.

Open String is:

Code: Select all

dvdsimple://D:@1 :audio-track=1
I can provide any further information later this evening if needed. Perhaps anyone knows about this without specific information.
Am I too stupid?

Regards,
Andreas

Hi all

I have the same problem. Im Using VLAN 0.9.9 under Windows. I'm trying to open a DVD on Harddisk and Stream it to Ipod/MP4. After the first chapter, converting stops. It seems to stop during frame losses during chapter changing.

Has anyone a workaround? Is this a known bug and will be fixed? Or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks, Stefan

Have you tried "--sout-keep" option ?

Yes i tried it. But I'm not shure that I have done right:

:sout=#transcode{vcodec=mp4v,vb=800,scale=1,acodec=mp4a,ab=128,channels=2}:duplicate{dst=std{access=file,mux=mp4,dst=C:\21_dvd.mp4}} :sout-keep

I also tried to play the movie. If I start playing movie at beginning there is no problem. But then it Plays the DVD-Menu. So I start at chapter 1, title 1. If I now try to jump to next chapter, movie stops. For transforming it's probably the same reason. There I also have to start at chapter 1, title 1 because I dont want to convert DVD menu.
