Something that's been bothering me since the upgrade. I can't find the "next topic" / "previous topic" links when viewing a topic. Anyone know where they arre? (or can confirm that they don't exist)

Ah, I changed the url in the server settings but not in the cookie settings after runing the conversion. Should be fine now. Thanks for the help.
No problem, glad it works now (which it does :D).

I don't feel it slower than the previous one. However I'll check the load.

The Bots thing is to identify googleBots and other to serve them cached pages, and remove sid in URLs (If you don't understand this, skip it).

DJ: can you detail those issues: I don't have them.
I don't think the forum (phpbb3) is slower. I was referring to me getting used to it! :P

1. The page draws are in sections rather than the whole page at once.
2. Scrolling is poor, slow, jerky and etc. Trying to think of more adjectives!
3. When you try to back up to the last page, you often get a time out "page not available", but it is available, it's in my cache.
4. Where is our mascot at the top of the page (CONE) or are we now advertising PHPBB instead of VideoLAN. I thought I was in the wrong house! :P

PLEASE consider that phpbb3 is considered an "Unstable BETA"

PHPBB3 seems very lovely, and stable. I'm running it on my box too, good engine. :)

I see this forum is now running phpBB 3.0.1 too :D. Only thing is they updated the older range of smilies (e.g. Mr Green, Embarassed etc.) to the newer phpBB3 style which have different dimensions. The old one were square - 15x15px and the newer ones are 15x17px. This is fine just phpBB thinks thet are still 15x15px hence why when making/editing a post in posting.php the Smilies (on the right) are squashed.

Cheers, Arite.

Yes I did.
Seeing how many security issues there has been in the past with phpBB, I try to keep up.

I don't know what to do for the smilies...

Yeh - phpBB3 has been a huge target for spammers apparently :/.

Well for the smilies either revert to the old set or if you want to keep the newer look go to:
ACP >> Posting >> Smilies >> (Scroll down to bottom) >> Edit smilies

Then all of the new 15x17px icons need to be given a height of 17. All of the ones the same shape as e.g. " ".

Cheers, Arite.
