Minimize number of threads

Hi i would like to know if there is any downside(s) to the option: Minimize number of threads, i mean it's not ticked on by default, so there might be something.

You shouldn't have to touch this option. --minimize-threads is already enabled by default for the cases where it doesn't hurt (like streaming to a file). For most cases this option will hurt performance (especially video playing).
