Problem with HD links on apple.com/trailers

Postby ckramme » 19 Mar 2008 15:40

Hi
I have a problem with VLC blocking the HD link .movs on http://www.apple.com/trailers.
I have searched the forums and only found old threads concerning the subject without anything solved. Didn't want to resurrect some old thread from a year ago.
Could be me, not being able to write the right search terms.

The image below pretty much sums up what the problem is.

VLC somehow tests the .mov files apple uses to link to the HD trailers, finds it empty and then displays the [no video] tag and makes the link unclickable.
As you can see I have set quicktime as the default .mov player, but VLC doesn't really care.

If I uninstall VLC it works as intended, but rather annoying having to do that every time I need to view a trailer.

Thank you in advance

File type associations for OS and for browsers are different. But AFAIK VLC browser plug-in currently captures some file types and there isn't option to change that. Hopefully that will change in future.
