0.8.6e and Windows 98

Postby waw » 06 Mar 2008 19:56

:!: The new version 0.8.6e DOES NOT START on 98 systems any more. It merely says
" ... uses Unicode, requires XP ..."

And the Unicows files don't help any more. So IMHO the last version running on 98 was 0.8.6d.

Am I right? And if I'm right, methinks the notification for 98 users on the Windows download section should be modified ;-)

Best regs,
Wolf

Yes, and perhaps there should be some notification about it, but in the meantime read this post for instructions how to get it to work:

Thx for your link. Still wondering, what a "widgets library" might be, but I hope it has nothing to do with security.

I'm gonna forward the solution to the German Win 98 Forum of the Spotlight.de board.

Thx again and bye for now,
