Output Issues

Postby dasx » 02 Feb 2008 17:48

Hi everyone!
I upgraded my OS to Vista Ultimate x64, and I'm having some issues with VLC 0.8.6d.
(Nvidia card)

If I leave the video output just how it is after a clean installation, video plays very slow and stops once in a while. If I set it to DirectX Output, Vista's Aero turns off and the video plays well, but as I read in this forums Aero shouldn't turn off...
Well, I decided to try other ways of output, and realized that if I set it to OpenGL Output then it seems to work fine, but I read that it's only for Ati Cards, and I'd like to ask if there is something wrong if I use that Output.

Thanks and sorry for my english!

Direct3D should be your choice if it works without issues but you can use any output module you like. OpenGL should work with all cards (so not limited to ATI).

Direct3D doesn't work properly, when activated, Aero turns OFF.
Well, I guess I'll have to use OpenGL output. :(

DirectX output disables aero, but Direct3D shouldn't.

It does. :(

Don't know why, but it does. Anyway, if OpenGL is OK then no prob with that. :)
