VLC Media Center

Hey there VLC team and other community members

for a long time now ive been happily using vlc media player and its development has been a godsend.

heres a request, not sure if it would ever be considered but i might as well put it out there

VLC Media Center, an open source media center based on VLC Media players source, from the original vlc media player team:
-With all the features of Windows Media Center (thumbnails, etc)
-Compatibility with the microsoft media center remote control
-Right click menus when playing media to change video tracks audio tracks, subtitle tracks
-anything else suggested by memebers

this would be a HUGE project, and will probably be shunned upon lol but wheres theres lovers theres always haters.

personally i am a graphic designer and would love to design the gui for a media center as a side project to my current projects but meh.

what do you all think of this idea?

I have been waiting for this for so long.....I am surprised it hasn't been done yet.

The nightly builds for VLC 0.9.0 have a much improved Qt4 interface with a media library etc. You can download the nightly builds from:
