Play video from web page link

Postby Skootles » 17 Jan 2008 03:47

Alright, so I have a media computer that I use to play movies and other video files on my TV.

I'm wondering if I can make links on a webpage (hosted on a local webpage) that would play a video file on my media PC. Is it possible? If so, how?

this looks simple, just make local links :

<a href="d:\strip.mpeg">d:\strip.mpeg</a>

if vlc is associated with mpeg files, it will be launched automagically

another way could be to use the VLC activex/Mozilla plugin
