Stream Screen timeout clear

Postby sparky » 13 Sep 2007 16:36

I have a UDP stream that is transmitted but sometimes broken (for a reason). Currently VLC freezes the last frame until the stream resumes.
To make it clear that the stream has stopped I would like to either clear the display or display another message or picture.

Is there a way of doing this with VLC as it is?

If not where should I look in the code to put in a time out for detecting the lack of UDP packets arriving?

I have thought about using the playlist in endless repeat but a break in the stream does not advance the playlist item.

Any ideas gladly accepted...

I'm also interested in the solution to this. Can this be fixed with something other than source code alteration?

Thanks,
jimmy
