no video no audio - video is working fine in media player

i can`t see video and hear the audio, but in media player it`s working fine,
pl`s help - thanx
media player file properties : Video Codec: HKM4 Universal Decoder 0001
Audeio Codec : HKM4 Universal Decoder

Like where you got the file, what does VLC say about the file (View -> Messages before opening)...

Does tools like GSpot or Mediainfo recognize the file correctly?

Can you tell where you got those files? Seems that is some sort of proprietary format, which cannot be opened without special software installation.

I have some info on this file format. I am trying to reverse engineer it (just started today). It's supposed to be a h.264 format. I'll update you if I find out more.

I encountered it using a Hikvision PCI encoder card DS-4004HCI. They are used in CCTV security camera applications. Under the download section on the product page they have a download link for the media player plug-in (I couldn't follow the link. Here is a direct link).

You might want to contact that firm and ask source codes =) My guess is that without source codes (or huge sum of money) nothing is going to happen.
