And as written a couple of times in the past ( viewtopic.php?t=39930 ), YES, there is a way to play DVDs from arbitrary regions on a recent Mac. It's a bit technical, it will void your warranty and some discs still refuse to work, but it exists. Unfortunately, the main reference site for that question is down at the moment.Folks, please search the forum before asking questions. This was answered millions of times before. NO, there is NO way to play DVDs from a different region than your drive is set to in case that your Mac is less than 3 years old. This is no bug in VLC and cannot be solved by us. It's due a different firmware implementation, which prevents the region code circumvention.
Edit:
Hint: Search for RPC1 vs RPC2..
