VLC won't work with Movieplayer (Neutrino)

VLC won't work with Movieplayer (Neutrino)

Postby Marco327 » 20 Dec 2003 18:58

Hello,

I've got a problem with VLC 0.6.2 (also tried 0.7.0-test2-win32) and the Neutrino movieplayer. When starting a DVD over the movieplayer, either the VLC blows up (error message follows) or plays the first track of the DVD and then freezes.

If VLC blows up, the message window reports the following error messages:

main: playlist item `dvdsimple:F:/@1:1'
dvd error: dvdcss cannot open device
packetizer_mpegvideo: Running mpegvideo packetizer
main error: cannot find any stream ouput
packetizer_copy error: cannot add a new stream

I configured VLC by an instruction, stating the following settings:

- Start VLC with vlc.exe --extraintf=http
- Set server port to 8080

I've heard that this settings work fine for other users. Any suggestions?

Are you sure F: is your DVD drive?
Since it reports it cannot open that device.

Maybe it's your CDrom drive and not your DVD.

Are you trying to read a DVD or stream it ? Because from your logs it seems like VLC is trying to stream it.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I'm sure F: is my DVD drive. VLC also plays DVDs from this drive locally (in a window on my PC) without any problem. But when startet remote by the movieplayer, the problem occurs.

I'm trying to play the DVD remotely (possibly by streaming).

Indeed by streaming. Neurtino asks VLC to stream the DVD to the dbox so it can be shown on that system.

It would help if you started vlc like vlc.exe -vvv --extraintf=http,logger

to create a logfile in your vlc directory. This should provide more detailed information and might explain why this isn't working.
