I can confirm that the Windows binary included the Firefox plugin. I ugpraded to 0.8.6c a few hours ago and "VLC Multimedia Plugin" is listed in Firefox. However I never managed to make the embedded player to work, see the Testing the VLC media player Mozilla/Firefox plugin topic.reinstall the NSIS version (*.exe) again, and ensure "Mozilla plugin" is ticked when on the "Choose Components" page of the wizard installer.
Thanks for the link even if I thought Firefox was about to crash, it froze for a few seconds. I get a black player with "(no video)" written in white at the center. Have you checked out my Testing the VLC media player Mozilla/Firefox plugin topic ?Have you tried this embedded player:

Just put the location of a file in the MRL box and press "Go". It should playback without a problem(?). If it doesn't then what happens?
Well, that is how it should look. You should also have the "MRL" address box at the top(?). Just enter a files location (e.g. "C:\Temp\Test.avi") and press "Go". Does it work? Thanks for the link even if I thought Firefox was about to crash, it froze for a few seconds. Yes, thanks - that was where I got the link from. I just posted it again (since there were others one which may not work as well on that page).Have you checked out my Testing the VLC media player Mozilla/Firefox plugin topic ?
Thanks for the explaination, it worked like a charm ! However I don't understand why we have to pass the video URL as a MRL parameter, doesn't the player handle the "data" attribute from the "object" element ?Well, that is how it should look.
