Beginning/End of Songs Chopped Off

Is there some setting I can change to keep VLC from slicing off the beginning or end of a song? It seems like there is always about a second or so missing from the beginning or end of my tracks. When I was still using Winamp this didn't happen, so I know the files are okay.

BTW: The amount of song that doesn't get played seems to equal the amount of "Caching value" used for the File Access Module. If I use too little playback is choppy and the beginning of the song suffers/doesn't get played. If I use enough to ensure smooth playback of all my media (1000ms) then I loose too much off the end.

Alright. I didn't know it was a bug. I had figured it was just a configuration option I'd missed.
