Problems compiling vlc-0.8.6 on debian

Hi,
I have a problem compiling 0.8.6 version on debian.
I have launched the configuration script:

./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-wxwindows

and it works correctly.

Then i launch make and it give me the following error:

Somehow you CC variable is set to "" instead of gcc
So i would reconfigure, check config.log, check a few Makefile to see if CC is set correctly
