Embeded fonts

Postby pom » 24 Oct 2007 01:03

Does authors of VLC plan to add support for embeded fonts in mkv? Will it come with full SSA support at the end of the year?

Increasing number of anime releases has fonts embeded inside of the file. It's a great feature allowing subbers to make high quality subtitles using multiple fonts, without need to hardsub them. Curently, VLC can't handle them properly. Such subtitles are shown with default font, cover 1/3 of the screen and sometimes are multiplied all over the screen with strange color artefacts. I hope something will be done about it.

Keep the good work guys! :)
