Setpoint+VLC=WTF?

Postby Kyouki » 19 Oct 2007 04:56

Okay i have a G5 laser mouse that i got in the last few months (when i was using zoomplayer, which takes inferior color screenshots tahn VLC..which is why i wanna go back to VLC), and whenever i click on anything VLC releated my mouse sensitivity spikes up. I contacted logitech about this and they said since it only happens in VLC that it's client-side issue.

If i have VLC minimized and my mouse on it's normal settings, and i click VLc..it will spike up uber speed. If i move my settings up then back down, it fixes itself..however it spikes agian if i click anything on VLC (play, pause, ect) which is what REALLY makes it annoying since setting it back down after maximizing wouldnt be too much of a pain.

anyone else experience this and know how to fix it? logitech tech support is useless

I am having the same problem as the others in this post. I tried the latest nightly (which didn't display video for me), but the mouse behavior was the same as the stable version. As soon as I highlight the VLC window my mouse sensitivity doubles. I can use the buttons on the mouse (sensitivity up then sensitivity down) to get it back to normal, but as soon as I switch back to the VLC window the sensitivity gets faster. As an interesting note, this does not happen EVERY time I load VLC, only sometimes.

I am on Windows XP with a Logitech G3 wired mouse and Setpoint 4.00.121 (latest). This behavior occurs on both VLC 0.8.6e and vlc-0.9.0-git-20080321-0003-win32.

BUMP!
Just started happening to me. Mouse speed seems to max out and be a huge pain to control, and sometimes it forces me to re-open SetPoint and reapply my Mouse's settings.

Win MCE SP2, all recent updates.
AMD 9850BE 2.8GHz~
MSI K9A2 Platinum
Kingston HyperX 1066 2GB
Logitech G5
Setpoint reports: Control Center version: 4.40.88
and Driver Version: 4.40.88

I think I found the solution:
In SetPoint, go to "Mouse Game Settings" and un-tick "Apply Game Settings when a game is detected".

Yep, worked for me. Uncheck the "Apply Game Settings when a game is Detected".
