Is there any way of superimposing data ie time/date onto the recorded image.

I believe right now you can superimpose static text on a directly viewed video (displayed on your screen, not streamed). On IRC I think DJ mentioned that someone was working on adding a text superimpose feature that would work for streamed video. No idea if they were going to include timestamp with the superimposed text, but it should be a relatively straightforward step, once there is a function accessible to feed a text string.

Yes the road for this is open now. People just need to implement it.
