I hope it's the good place.

I use vlc 9 with a usb dazzle hybrid pro stick (=320e pinnacle) on windows xp sp2 (patch for TNT/dvb-t).

- On my laptop, (the graphic card is a old via savage pro, a directX 6 or 7 card in fact), all is ok.
- On my "normal" computer, (nvidia 7900GS , last driver, last directX...), vlc 9 doesn't work properly (freeze) in dvb-t mod (TNT).
To have a good image and sound, i have to play a video on windows media player in the same time. After all is ok.
But if i use vlc to play what i'm recording with vlc in dvb-t mod (something like "timeshift" ), freeze come back.
If i do the same: recording with vlc9 but playing with kmplayer, all is ok.

Sometime, vlc crash when i close after use it in dvb-t mod. And i have a message like this "libdvbpsi.dll error" or something like that. I have this problem all the time with the last night build, and only sometime with the 31/07/2007 night buid.

It's a bug ?

(if you need the log, i can post it here if you want

Sorry for my bad english)
:D

I just tried vlc-0.9.0-svn-20070903-0239-win32, and turning on transparency crashes VLC for me. One second after opening, the font becomes larger and changes to Times Roman I think, then I get a "retry, abort, ignore" error.

Also, I downloaded the 9th of September nightly, and after installing, VLC crashes on opening.

Also, searching in media library crashes VLC. (At least VLC can remember the media in the library now!)

Also, some bugs I mentioned before in this thread are not fixed yet. Thats the "show playlist/hide playlist" one and the scroll bar jumping wildly when playing .avi videos one.

Let me know if you need more testing!

P.S: I don't know if anyone reads this thread, so I also posted this in the QT interface topic in feature requests.

i don't know much about windows, only tested transparency on linux and it works fine (except that the video isn't transparent :/ )

i have no idea about that, maybe it's a bug in qt4... don't know how it handles transparency on windows sorry

i forgot to say 2 things:

- The member "Lotesdelere" have the same problem (vlc0.9+DVBt+directshwo) here:
viewtopic.php?p=110207#p110207
So i'm not alone
- and use " sout=#duplicate{dst=display} :sout-display-delay=1024 " (or 512 ...) not fix the problem.

Other then the whole video window becoming transparent as well I haven't had any problems with the transparency that would make the player crash. I'm using Windows XP SP2 and an ATI radeon 9000 (I know, old ) and transparency on all the different levels work. I'll do some further testing with it.

CloudStalker, can you try different video output modules, and see if the video output is still transparent ?

I'm experiencing crashes with the Mac OSX-Intel nightlies. When I try to play a DVD, it crashes without explanation. This is on a MacBook, running version 10.4.10.

I increased the verbosity level to 2, but I still didn't see any error messages. Is it writing them to disk somewhere?

So far, I've tried nightlies 20070905 through 20070908.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Jeremy

Hmm looks like I've done some bad testing.

I just tried it again on the same version, and now it works fine. Not sure why it didn't work before though.

Testing video, and heres the conclusion.

The interface is still transparent, but the video does not show up. It is playing with sound, but there is no picture (just black and transparent screen).

I've tried .avi, .flv, .wmv.

Hi,

I downloaded vlc-0.9.0-svn-20070911-0853-win32.7z, extracted the archive and ran vlc.exe. No interface showed up and no process vlc.exe appeared in task-manager. However, I didn't test the installer yet. Trying later...

Regards,
eXile.

Odd...

There do not appear to be new builds for 20070909 or 20070910, for MacOS X Intel.

Anything up?

Thanks.

Does anyone else experience that it is sometimes incredibly hard to select a track on the playlist/media library?

Try clicking a file in the playlist, then click outside the playlist box (some empty space in VLC interface), then try select a different file in the playlist. It doesn't work right? Bug I think.

The way to fix this is to reselect playlist/medialibrary on the top left panel before trying to select another song.

Also, is there an idea to work on a Watch-folder? For example, I want all files in folder ABC to go into the media library. But I recently added 2 more files to folder ABC. There is no 'simple' way to get these 2 new files to show up in VLC. You either have you select them separately, or clear the whole library and re-add the folder.

There do not appear to be new builds for 20070909 or 20070910, for MacOS X Intel.
The builds are back, but now I cannot get the latest builds to run. I've tried several from around trunk-intel-20070920-0125.dmg (for Mac Intel) and they appear to install properly, but when clicked VLC does not run and there are no error messages.

Is it just me, or are these packages busted?

Thanks.

OCt 7 build frequently crashes upon exit after playing certain videos. Also, on a few, crashes upon attempting to play them.

In the 10/12 build for windows, there is no snapshot preview in the upper left corner as there was before. Instead, when a snapshot is taken, the preview takes up the whole screen, and the video keeps playing, causing us to miss several seconds of the video. I'd prefer to have the snapshot preview as it was, in the corner.

10/13 build: there is a constant horizontal gray area in the upper left corner of the playing video. Also, there is no snapshot preview in the upper left corner as there was before. Instead, when a snapshot is taken, the preview takes up the whole screen, and the video keeps playing, causing us to miss several seconds of the video

I've come across a bug. Note, i'm using quite an old version. 9-15 to be exact.

In the media library, VLC gives an error (VLC could not open file "file://D:/Music/Five for Fighting - 2 2 Makes 5.mp3" (Bad file descriptor).) when it jumps to the track "Five for Fighting - 2+2 makes 5". I think the problem lies with the + sign. However, I double click the file in windows explorer, VLC plays it fine.

Just letting you know.
