Limit CD play to a single track

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

Limit CD play to a single track

Postby tomleonard » 21 Mar 2004 23:28

Is there any way I can limit VLC to playing a single track from a CD. When I specifiy (wxWindows GUI) other than track 1, VLC will seek into the cd, start play at the specified track and then continue to subsequent tracks.

Hi everybody,
Is there any way I can limit VLC to playing a single track from a CD.
No response since March!!! Is this a such heavy glitch?!!!
Or the response is too easy that it can't be printed to "beginners" like me?!!!!

Because I got the same problem... Running VLC 0.7.2 on W2K.
I'd liked to launch VLC for audio CD reading a single track (using ex: cdda://D:@4). VLC starts well on track 4, but don't stop at the end of that track... Annoying... @4-4 is accepted, but doesn't restrain the reading to the given track number.

Any idea?
Thanx a lot folks.

We had to hack cdda.c to make this work, but the style of the fix has issues which stopped us from checking it back in. Mainly, we can play a single track, but cannot play the entire CD. Also issues with playlist integration. If you would like the code, please e-mail me.
