vlc 0.8.6c & 0.9.0-svn => ALSA lib issue?

Postby jchambers » 11 Sep 2007 20:35

Hello all, I have been searching and found a lot of questions but no solutions (so far) to this.

I installed 0.8.6c first, removed it and installed 0.9.svn because I read somewhere that it fised this problem... guess not.

vlc -vvvv -I dummy udp:@:8084 --no-plugins-cache :sout ":duplicate{dst=std{access=file,mux=ts,dst="/var/www/test.ts"}}"
No file is written. (777 priv's on /www)

I am running this from apache, but I tried it using gnome desktop as well with the same result.

Here is the log output:

I have spared you the rest of the duplicate ouput

I also read in a bug report that '--disable-audio' would solve the problem, but I get the below error.
vlc: unknown option or missing mandatory argument `--disable-audio'

Anyone else have this problem and solve it?

Thanks.

your command line is not correct.
use --sout and not :sout
and it's #duplicate and not :duplicate

Thank you for the help, I iwill try that.

So it's...

--sout='#transcode{}:duplicate{}'

or

--sout='#duplicate{}'
none for now
