How do I play a file while downloading it with Mozilla Firef

Postby aliendude5300 » 09 Sep 2007 22:00

When I'm downloading a file with Mozilla Firefox, it saves the file as a .part file that saves as the file downloads then when the download is complete it removes the .part from the end of the file. I can get VLC to open this .part file and play it as a regular media file, however when it reaches the end of the file, instead of letting it download a bit it ends the file and I can't seek to that specific point afterwards. I want it to "stream" that .part file and have it download a bit when it reaches the end of the file then continue playing. How would I do this?

you can't

but you can play the file directly (without saving it) by opening the url directly in vlc
