Need help adding a signature / avatar?

/me looks for the option to limit image size in signatures... if that exists

I looked around in the options and saw nothing, so I based it on the usual size of signatures (512x256). I believe that's what it is. I can always change the size if need be, but you'll have to tell me what the limit (width and height) is.

Limiting signatures to the equivalent of 3 or 4 lines of text would be nice A forum is about the (usefull) posts you make, not about your signature. And you already have an avatar, no need to add another one (Maybe that's just me being old school ... I should spend more time on other non technical forums )

4+4 makes 8 here (And honestly, don't you think that they're still a bit big for a signature? We don't need to have huge ads for other topics in the forum ... and people aren't going to understand the graphics while the previous text only version at least told you what it was meant for)

Yours takes about a third of the height used by CloudStalker (and half the width)

Well I put those two images on my adblock list, way to big when scrolling through the forums, especially in threads where cloudstalker posts much.

Hi - Hoping someone can help. I can "make" my signature, but cannot find a place to put it in my profile (when trying to join two different forums). Know at least one other person who has this unsolved problem. The profile page includes "preferences" but under this heading there is only "always show my signature" - no where to actually insert it! I have managed to put an avatar on (there is a nice little box for this) but there is NOWHERE that I can find to put the URL of a signature.

One of the administrators of a forum tried to solve this for myself and another person, and completely drew a blank, saying she had been told it was some sort of bug in our systems.

Can anyone (with better knowledge than me, which isn't difficult) help please?

This only seems to give me the option of editing a text signature - not graphic.

It's easy. Just go back into the signature panel and tpye this around the url: [img]http://url[/img]. It should display the image when you preview the signature.

Just be warned that there are some here that don't like graphical signatures and would prefer a quantum mechanics size sig. That explains my current one.

Thank you very much for trying to help. I have put [img]%20at%20beg.%20and%20[/img]. at end of my glitter maker URL to no avail.

If this type of signature is unacceptable to members, perhaps I should just give up trying! It is so frustrating that these "easy" things seem so hard to the computer illiterate like me. I seem to follow the instructions and get nowhere!

Don't worry I'm not keeping it, I just wanted to show you that it definitely does work. Try using the "Quote" button next my previous post with the picture and then just copy and paste it to your signature.
