show total time in status bar of ALL files in the playlist

Postby citizenkeys » 24 Jul 2007 00:41

Yet another simple one:
In wxwidgets, in the status bar, preferrably in the embedded playlist, show the total time of all files currently in the playlist.

VLC version: OVER 9000!!!
Operating System: It's...blue screen
Location: Heaven? No no. What's that other place that starts with an "H"? Oh yes: Home. ^_^

Oh you mean like this: Pic

Well, the QT4 interface for the upcoming VLC v0.9.0 is already set to do this. The above pic is just a mockup of the interface that I put together, but hopefully.... :D Btw, wxWidgets will be completely gone soon and replaced by the Qt4 interface, so I would suggest posting comments concerning the interface here:

As long as the new features, like the "media library" and the QT4 interface, don't get in the way of vlc's quick load time.

One of the primary reasons I use vlc is because of it's quick load time, even on older computers.

When you first install VLC 0.9.0 it takes about 6 to 10 seconds to start, but after that, it'll start instantaneously (1 second or less). If you want, here's where you can test the nightly builds: nightly builds.

The long first start is always present in all versions of VLC because it builds the cache plugins.
