Media Library function still doesn't do anything though.(Or perhaps I'm using it incorrectly...I don't see any more options though)

Heres the error message found under the message function:

main error: Reloading playlist not implemented.
access_directory error: /C:/Documents and Settings/Hfswjyr/Desktop/VLC.xspf: No such file or directory


Also, perhaps VideoLan should consider designing a logo for .xpsf files. So far it is an ugly data icon.

Just thought of something else. I would be handy if we could select more options other than Name, Artist, Duration in the top bar of the playlist. Album would be nice. Perhaps some people will also benefit from Year and Genre.

About choosing the columns, there is a non-working patch waiting. I got to repair it. I'll tell you here when it is available.

One more thing that has already been mentioned but forgotten I think.

VLC is fully minimised (hidden in bottom right on windows), and when you click it, shouldn't it open on top? Because logically, if you clicked it you would want to change something. So it should be on top right?

Hey j-b one little thing I thought I might point out, when you click on the VLC icon in the system tray to hide the interface and then click on another window to bring it into focus shouldn't VLC come to the front of other windows when you click on the icon again instead of being hidden behind them? I think this makes more sense.

Ah, thanks Cloudstalker. Thats exactly what I meant. I should search the topic more throughly. (But its 11 pages!)

Sorry, I know nothing about programming, but I know that programs such as Windows Live Messenger and Winamp (Yes i'm sorry!) can do this. When you click on the system tray icon it will "show" the program in front of the other windows.

I have quickly tested the metadata editing tool, and here are my points,

1. When you click "save metadata" VLC does not give any indication that anything has been done. Perhaps it should close the windows, or show "Saved".
2. You can save Title, Artist, Album/movie/show title, Genre, Date, Track number/position. Nothing else seems to work.
3. You can edit the metadata of song A if song A is currently playing/loaded. If you try to edit the metadata of song B while song A is playing/loaded, the metadata "editor" window changes to song A.

About the metadata writings, yes, this is because of a misconception in how I designed it. Please fill a ticket in trac.

About Winamp and other WMP things, I'll see what I can do. Fill also a ticket.

I go here and login. I then click web interface and end up here. I don't know what "Server" and "Channel" mean so I just type in my nickname and a window with a bunch of random, ongoing lines of text appear; I give up. Sorry if I'm a little slower then some users but I don't get this.

I'm as lost as you are. I'm glad I'm not the only one though. Is there a chance of upgrading that site so that registered users can go back to the normal way of creating tickets?

Well, yes, that is good, just speak to us and give us your trac nickname.

How am I supposed to speak to to you? When I click on the second login (where the nickname, channel and server are) it's just a bunch of text that seems to include my login name and some other names; there's no place to type.

I must admit that all of this is getting a little off topic, so we'll continue the discussion here: Trac and Wiki design. j-b, if you think of a better place to discuss this (other then the trac ) please tell me.
