Problem installing VLS

Hi everybody,
When I type the './configure' everything seems to be allright. The 'make clean' seem to be clean too but when I type the 'make' I've got the message :

and so the 'make install' returns me a :

make install make: `install' est à jour.

I 've made the whole installation as root. May someone help me ???

I forbid to say that I am under RH9 and the VLS version I tried to install is the 0.5.6.
