New VLC audio visual effect wanted

It would be fun if someone could fix following audio visualization from WinAmp to VLC.

DUO - Technohedron

It should be nice to launch it from VLC, because it's a simple audio visualization.

Do you have some screenshots? videos? (Is the .avs a source code file?)

Looks like it kind of is somekind of source code (if you view it with a text editor)

Hehe, ok. And about the screenshots/vids? :) (I don't have winamp installed on any of my PCs, and I'd like to see what it looks like before going through the effort of implementing it in VLC)

Looks like the source code for AVS reading and use in winamp is available here: http://www.nullsoft.com/free/avs/ . Might be nice to implement the generic avs parser in VLC too so we can use any of those visualisations. I'll give it a look.

AVS support would be cool, there are many good avs visualizations =)
Milkdrop, would be also cool, it's even open source. Problem would be that it's for direct x only. But maybe that could be recoded. Definitely something for the features paradize, though.

As far as I know a ProjectM/MilkDrop compatible plugin was implemented a long time ago called Galaktos (or GaLaktos perhaps):

I think it only works on *nix at the moment and vlc needs to be compiled with it enabled.

Sorry to bump this topic, but i would like a Milkdrop 2 equivalent for VLC on Windows. Is it possible? Can someone do it? I really love Milkdrop, but i'm not fan of Winamp..
