Is my 1.33ghz PB too slow for VLC? Should I install more RAM

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

Is my 1.33ghz PB too slow for VLC? Should I install more RAM

Postby valster » 08 Aug 2004 19:52

Hi guys,
When playing movies like Xvid, when the camera moves pretty fast from one side to another, it's a little slow, can it be my computer?
I got a 1.33ghz G4 with 512mb of RAM, if I increase it to 1gig, do you think it will be solved?
Thanks a lot for your help!

Got a 1 Ghz / 512 MB PowerBook here, all files play fine.

In general, can the installation of more RAM help VLC to play video smoother?

I don't believe more RAM will help, VLC runs fine here even when I have a lot of programs running. You'd better check if another app isn't taking much cpu.
