Crash in VLC Wizard transcoding mp4 to ogg-theora-vorbis

Postby pjlbyrne » 29 Jun 2007 10:51

Subject says it all. I can post/send an screenshot of the exception in Visual Studio, if anyone is interested. According to the callstack it was in 'libffmpeg_plugin.dll' when it went foobar.

Can someone advise how I might avoid this, or, more generally, how I might transcode an mp4 file to ogg-theora-vorbis? I tried the tool ffmpeg2theora-0.18.exe, but it failed to encode the audio file in the mp4.

Thanks,

Patrick

I installed the latest 'nightly build' of ffdshow, and it still crashed.

VLC is NOT a Direct Show player. So Windows codecs will NOT effect VLC's performance.
