Matrox RTMAC with OSX

Hi I have been using VLC under linux lately for live broadcasting from an analogue source. I have just got a mac with an rtmac breakout box. I understand that VLC for osx doesnt support live capture but does anyone have any ideas if i can capture using quicktime broadcast or something similar and then use vlc to serve a stream out? I'm new to mac (today) so go easy on me

I know this post is a little old but I'm putting this here for others who stumble across it. I would use QT Broadcaster along with Darwin Streaming Server.
