VLC licensing terms

Postby charlest » 20 Jun 2007 01:09

What are the licensing terms, if I've included VLC as part of the solution to my clients?

Note that, I've not modified the VLC source code.

Just conform to the GPL.

In short: If your client needs the source, you HAVE to give them. You can't limitate their use of the software and you have to respect our copyrights.

When you mentioned the "source", I'm assuming the source of VideoLan.
Am I correct?

Thanks for your reply.

I wonder if I've to made my software open source if I decided to invoke calls to VLC modules? If so, where do I submit my source to?

Depends on how you 'call' VLC and how you build your application.

If so, anywhere accessible.

If possible, I would like to embed VLC within my app.
In this case, do I have to open source my app?
