For the moment being the latest official release is 0.8.6b, especially when you are looking for the sources (I mean the "official and latestet source-release").Is 0.8.6c officially released? Many website announced this version, but here is not any announcement?
I've just discovered my problems were not caused by speaker-setup, but by the Volume Normalisation filter (either active by default from preferences, of enabled via the Extended GUI). Pretty annoying actually because I use it pretty much all the time :/.Found a problem outputting 2+ channel AC3 audio to stereo setup in Vista x64, WMP does fine and the problem doesn't present itself on XP. I'm going to do some further testing and will try to get as much useful data as possible. I'll post back as soon as I can.
your version you linked in the first post is not officialThose versions are not official. Please don't dl them.
Is http://downloads.videolan.org/ the official server? YESMan, I am the one who make the official binaries, and believe me none of those are officials.

Is http://downloads.videolan.org/pub/video ... -win32.exe located on the official server? YES
Then it's official!
or May be you are admitting your servers have been compromized?
