Can't play DVDs made by Pinnacle Studio

Postby smoey » 09 Mar 2007 11:09

My VLC player can't play DVDs created by Pinnacle Studio. It comes up with a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library message saying

--------------------

Assertion failed!

Program: c:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe
File: vm.c
Line:1742

Expression: pgcit ! = NULL

For information on how your program can cause an assertion failure, see the Visual C++ documentation on asserts

(Press Retry to debug the application - JIT must be enabled)

----------------

Retry doesn't work.

HELP please!

Thank you.

I have the same problem.

I'm seeing others do also.

It is discussed here also.

Can VLC mark this up as a bug?

Yeah, this seems to be specific to DVDs without a startup menu. check out the link (http://forums.vso-software.fr/viewtopic.php?p=2469#2469), it's an extensive discussion - and no solution.
I have the same problem.
