Black screen on video capture playback?

Postby Auntie Lyn » 10 May 2007 06:26

I'm very sorry for the intrusion, I have been using VLC for my media player and upgraded tonight to 0.8.6b. I have been using a screen capturing program (BSR) to capture video of a streaming site from AfriCam. With my previous version, I was able to figure out somehow to capture the video without getting the black screen on playback, but I can't seem to get anything to work here. I have gone into programs, quick settings, video and clicked on Direct X no hardware acceleration, but that has not done the trick. I had played around in the previous version and finally had gotten it to work, but I have no idea how to do that again. Any help would be appreciated. If this is in the wrong thread or not appropriate for this forum, please bear with me.

VLC has it's own screen capture. The hot keys are ctrl alt s and the file is saved in My Pictures.

If you want to use an external program or Prent Screen, you will need to shut off "Overlay video output" found in Preferences, Video.
