Disabling double-click to fullscreen

Disabling double-click to fullscreen

Postby mhurne » 17 Apr 2007 15:55

Is it possible to disable the VLC feature where double-clicking the mouse on a playing video toggles between windowed and fullscreen modes? I need to prevent fullscreen mode altogether, an indirect way to do so would work as well (that is, I don't care about the mouse double-click feature in specific - any method to prevent fullscreen mode will suffice). We are sending "f off" to the player every 5 seconds, but for some reason the player started ignoring that after a few minutes. The only way to get out of fullscreen mode is to double-click on the video again (or press ESC, but there's no keyboard involved). I suppose I could delve into the source since we had to compile ourselves anyway...

I take it fullscreen on double-click is broken in that build. But I need the source to compile on Linux...I'll see if I can't find it...

Of course this needs to run in a production environment as part of our product, so I wouldn't feel too hot about running a build that hasn't been marked as stable...

Like I said - don't feel too good about the idea of "fixing" my problem by taking advantage of buggy code! But seriously, is there a clean and correct way to disable the double-click functionality?

I hate to necro an old topic but I have been prowling the forums looking for the answer to this topic and have failed to find it.

I would actually like to do the opposite and disable the double click so I can prevent the user from double clicking into windowed mode thus keeping them in full screen. Any help would be highly appreciated.

You should build your own vlc for that.

I may have better luck building a house with a paper clip and some bubble gum. A programmer I am not, nor even close to one, I prefer to leave the smart guys with the code, I may turn VLC into a self replicating virus that is responsible for the destruction of man.

I had hoped somebody out there may have tackeled this problem and could point me in the right direction.
