No subtitles in full screen

Postby sam0t » 05 Apr 2007 16:02

Hello

I tried various searches about my issue, but could not find a clear answer. My problem is quite simple, I get subtitles with VLC when in window mode, but as soon as I go to full screen the subtitles vanish.

Iam quite sure there is somekinda overlay issue going on but Iam total newbie with linux so gotta ask for help. Iam using Ubuntu 6.10 and VLC 0.8.6 player. My Vid card is X1900XT and using 8.28.8 ATI drivers with it.

Are you running on AMD 64bit Ubuntu 6.10? If so there is a known issue with getting full screen to work right. You can look HERE for more information and a possible fix if you know how to install patches.

Iam using 32-bit Ubuntu as far as I know, I do have AMD64 X2 processor though. I´ll check the thread anyways, thanks for the link.

edit:

Hmm it seems I have to wait for VLC 0.9.0, no matter I can watch my vids in XP for the time being :)
