BIG problems with transmission!

Postby leviax » 15 Mar 2007 01:28

Hello to everybody!

I am making a lot of test with vlc transmission and I met a lot of problems, often strange.

First problem.
I tried to stream a file (stored in my hard disk) with mmsh, setting in my server URL : 0.0.0.0. When a client over internet try to connect to mssh://ip_my_server:port all work fine.
Instead, when I tried to stream mic or webcam with the same mmsh server settings, client couldn't listen or watch nothing.

Second problem.
I tried to stream from a server pc to an other pc placed in the same LAN. In this test I used rtp session to connect client pc to server pc.
When I tried to stream voice from mic client could listen.
When I tried to stream from webcam client couldn't watch nothing.

In all cases I was unable to stream from webcam!!

Webcam I used for my tests supports YUV and RGB encoding.
About the content type and parameters for output my webcam supports only "Format: RAW/RTP" and "Encoding: H263/RTP or JPEG/RTP".

Could transmission problems come from my webcam?
Any ideas will be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
