Extended GUI skin support

Postby emkman » 26 Feb 2007 07:09

Is there a skin that implements the extended GUI? I often would like to adjust video brightness and contrast without having to turn off the skin interface. An option that simply opens the extended GUI in a seperate WxWindow would be fine too.

VLC version: OVER 9000!!!
Operating System: It's...blue screen
Location: Heaven? No no. What's that other place that starts with an "H"? Oh yes: Home. ^_^

I think I read somewhere on this forum that they are going to implement this ability in the next version on VLC media player (0.9.0), so I guess all we can do is wait. Maybe you might want to try some nightly builds: http://nightlies.videolan.org./

thanks for the info.
even if it is implemented in the nightlies however, this wont matter until a skin author adds it, correct? I'm assuming that the extended GUI wont appear skinned automagically, but i don't know how the skin engine works so ...

It is not possible currently, as the wxWidgets interface doesn't provide a separate window for the Extended GUI; it is embedded in the main interface. But we are switching to QT4 anyway, so this might be possible in the future.
