No video at all after an upgrade or a new install

Hi,

I have upgraded VLC 0.8.2 (I 'm not sure about the exact version) to the new VLC 0.8.6a, on a Windows 2000 Pro SP4 fully patched. VLC was perfectly working before the upgrade.

Now the video isn't working any more; I only have black and white stripes, but sound is OK. I have tried to delete the upgraded version, to delete the VLC directory and re-install a brand new uploaded version, checked the box to delete the older config, the problem is still the same.

No. Delete your oplugins' cache.

Go to %appdata%\
remove VLC folder.

Done without any changes.
Sound still OK, but black and white stripes on the video

Ok. Go in the preferences, and advanced, and video and change the video output modules.

Works fine with the OpenGL Video Output module

But not with the previously selected default Video Output module. I don't know why

I think it has changed between versions. The DirectX output may need a newer version of DirectX software and graphic drivers.

hi guys, i had the same problem and i suspected it had something to do with my old version of directx,
but i still have problems even after i updated my software.
i'm willing to hear other options thanks
