Need automatic playlist scanner

Hi,
I'm using VLC as a multicast client (meaning I try to open a network stream over a UDP port). I wish I could program the client to switch from one channel (multicast group ) to the next after, either a specified, or a randon time interval. This should happen for all the groups in the play list. I could see when VLC is used as a multicast data source, wherein the files will be played in sequence, one after another. I wish this was there when it is in the client mode as well.
