when is the player gonna be updated to play 10bit, i get sound, but its just a green screen. 10bit is supposed to be what its going to be in the future instead of 8bit and im already seeing 10bit used, so i would like to see the new videos and how good their gonna be.

Try a Nightly release.

Just clarfiying that you need a vlc-git 1.2 release and that the 1.1 branch won't work.

Someone else would have to speak to the timeframe of releases, but you'll need to wait for the 1.2 release then. There may be other 1.1.x releases in the interim but they won't have 10 bit support. The 1.2 releases haven't reached beta quality yet so it could be a while.

The current 1.2-64bit nightly unstable version is able to play 10bit MKVs, i've checked and confirmed.

Maybe a better term would be not "fully feature ready" at least on the Mac side.

Well, yes. The mac side is behind because of the new UI.
