Easily Save New Graphic Equalizer Presets

I've poked around and seen several other threads mentioning this, although I don't believe anything was ever decided. In case the title didn't cover completely what I'd like, I'll be a bit more descriptive.

Under Tools, Effects and Filters, Graphic Equalizer

You're able to select different presets, as well as adjust the sliders to your own liking. The issue I see is that VLC does not allow you to save your settings once you have adjusted the sliders to your liking, and reverts back after exiting. It would be great to have a button on this window somewhere that allows people to create their own Graphic Equalizer presets. Having this feature would save myself (and I'm sure others) the trouble of re-adjusting the Graphic Equalizer to my preferred settings each time I start VLC.

There was only one other request that I found which was posted in the last six months. It's been almost two months since that request was posted, which is why I brought the subject back into discussion with this topic.

Are there any plans to implement an easy method of saving new Equalizer Presets?

AFAIK no. Automatic saving of current settings should hopefully be in VLC 1.2.0, but custom profiles for EQ and others aren't.

In my opinion, not adding the ability to easily save custom presets would be a bad decision. Having that feature makes life a lot easier for those who use the Graphic Equalizer. I would love to see this added in VLC 1.2.0, or at least a forthcoming update.

OMG, Of course there should be a click to save user defined settings for the Graphic Eq, Compressor, Etc...Not having these options is just tottaly silly!

Sorry to keep an old thread alive...but....

We're now at version 2.0.6 (June 2013) and this "feature"/"option" is omitted/broke! Windows Media has this, so does WinAMP.

So.....here's what ya gotta do to save your preset!

Open the equalizer, tick enable and set it where ya want

Then go to >>Tools>>Preferences and select "Show Settings-ALL" in the lower left.

Select Audio>Filters>Equalizer and change the "Bands gain" 0.0 entries to match what you just set them to. The "Global Gain" setting is the "Preamp" slider value (WTF!)

CLICK SAVE!

Close VLC and open er' up, BOB's YER UNCLE!!!!!

Why a "save settings" button isn't on the equalizer itself is beyond me :P
