Proof of Play with VLC

Hello guys i particularly love VLC for all it's great features. What i would like to request is the ability for VLC to log the file, date and duration of play from the playlist. some sort of proof of play

You can create an extension that does this work. (lua extension).

Hello Ivoire, i need a similar feature where i would like VLC to write all played files to one text document with play time and duration. can you help with that please. I am not very familiar with the VLC architecture so a step by step guide will be very helpful. cheers.

Thanks a lot VLC help, but unfortunately, i am not a developer adn i have tried to read through the readme file you linked in your post, but i am completely lost.
. I really want to be able to do this and would appreciate any help you can offer. cheers

If you don't understand basics of LUA and coding, it might be very hard to implement something like that.

well, i really wish you could help me out, if it would even be for a fee. I have no developing experience. though i am tech savvy. I am sure if you walked me through i would also be able to help myself to an extent. cheers

Easiest thing might be borrowing basic LUA for beginners book from local library. After reading few chapters, you should be able to print variables to the file (which is basically what this would require).
